Liquid Detergent 6121 is a liquid
alkaline cleaner designed to clean new or recently reactivated heating
and cooling systems. It will not remove rust or mill scale, but will
lift drawing, rolling and cutting oils as well as other dust, dirt and
soil accumulations. Formula 6121, when used as directed, is safe on all
materials of construction normally found in these systems.
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Physical State: Liquid

Density: 10.93 lbs./gallon
pH: 13.5
APPLICATION
Boiler & Hot Water Systems: Use Liquid Detergent 6121 at a rate
of 3 to 9 ounces per gallon of water in the system. Fire the boiler
and heat to 180° F. If possible, flood the entire system including
steam and condensate lines. Recirculate this solution through all
piping for a minimum of several hours. Drain the system, fill it again
with water and again recirculate it, followed by draining. The system
should now be clean and ready for final introduction of water and the
boiler water chemical treatment.
Cooling Systems: Use Liquid Detergent 6121 at a rate of 3 to 9
ounces per gallon of water in a completely filled system. Recirculate
the system for a minimum of several hours. The system can be placed in
service during cleaning to warm the water, but it must be taken
off-line while draining and flushing. Drain the system, being sure
that floating oils in sumps and tanks are flushed out. Fill the system
with fresh water and drain again. Finally, fill the cooling system
with water and treat with appropriate scale and corrosion inhibitor
and microbiocide.
